Consortium Brand Partners (CBP), a consumer investment firm, has announced the acquisition of home décor, furniture and lifestyle company, Jonathan Adler, through a strategic partnership with American Exchange Group, a leader in fashion accessory, design, manufacturing and distribution. The transaction was finalized on Dec. 23, 2024.

Jonathan Adler, founded three decades ago by the eponymous designer, is known for an innovative approach to décor, furniture, table-top, decorative accessories, lighting and full-scale residential and hospitality design. The Jonathan Adler brand has garnered a loyal following.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan Adler to the CBP family,” says Jonathan Greller, president and co-founder, Consortium Brand Partners. “Jonathan Adler's exceptional talent and vision have made the brand a beloved leader in home design for decades. This acquisition not only expands our offerings in the home décor space but also enhances our ability to create compelling and timeless brand experiences that resonate with consumers across multiple lifestyle categories in a fun and beautiful way.”

“Partnering with CBP on this acquisition allows us to combine our expertise in manufacturing and distribution with their strength in strategic investments and brand-building,” says Alen Mamrout, president and chief executive officer, American Exchange Group. “Together, we are committed to elevating the Jonathan Adler brand to even greater heights, expanding its global reach and product offerings.”

The acquisition of Jonathan Adler is CBP's third acquisition in 18 months, following strategic investments in other high-growth, lifestyle-driven companies, including Draper James and Outdoor Voices. Both brands' strong emotional connection to consumers and distinctive design aesthetics reinforce CBP's commitment to building and nurturing brands that inspire and elevate everyday life.

Adler will continue in his role as founder and chief creative officer. The business will continue to operate its retail stores across the U.S. and the U.K. through a strategic partnership with American Exchange Group, expand its brick-and-mortar presence, and grow its offerings and categories for current and future international wholesale accounts.

“I am truly excited to partner with the Consortium and American Exchange Group teams and build the brand to new heights. Their fantastic reputations and expertise will enable us to grow globally, entering exciting new categories and broader channels of distribution,” says Adler.
