Sean Bailey was recently appointed to president of picture production at Walt Disney Studios, where he will manage live-action development, film production and physical production for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. Additionally, more restructuring has taken place at Walt Disney Studios.
Bailey's previous film producing work includes Matchstick Men, Gone Baby Gone and upcoming Disney film Tron Legacy. He is founder and president of production company Idealogy and he also co-founded integrated media firm LivePlanet with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Chris Moore.
"Building upon a strong foundation with the company, Sean brings great creative instincts and considerable filmmaking experience to his new role at Walt Disney Studios," says Rich Ross, chairman of Walt Disney Studios. "His close relationships throughout the creative community and industry at large make him an ideal leader to set the direction of TWDS' future film slates. Meanwhile, Ross has announced other staff changes within Walt Disney Studios, including the following:
Chuck Viane, president of distribution, will add international sales and distribution across 70 countries to his current role
Christine Cadena, senior vice president of marketing, synergy and franchise development, has now become senior vice president of multicultural initiatives
Michelle Sewell has been promoted to senior vice president of global publicity
John Nicolleti has been named vice president of global communications
Paul Roeder moves to the role of director of global communications
Heidi Trotta, senior vice president of studio communications, will remain on the team as a consultant for a transitional period
