Tim Collins, a branding and licensing executive in the U.K., has established his own consulting firm, titled The Brand Director.

The new London-based firm will advise small and medium-sized IP owners on how to extend their brands and generate new revenue streams from activities including merchandise, TV, film, theater shows, live events, digital and retail using a 360-degree view of each client’s IP and current activities to explore creative and innovative ways to generate revenue and reach new consumers.

According to The Brand Director, the company will pursue clients that are contemplating their first steps into brand extension, as well as existing players who want to refresh their strategy.

“The Brand Director isn’t a traditional licensing agent of consultancy,” says Collins. “There are plenty of excellent companies out there doing great work in those fields. However, there is a shortage of informed, unbiased advice for IP owners wishing to expand their brands. That is where we come in.”

Collins will head the new firm. Prior to creating the company, Collins served with companies such as Telstar Records, CPLG, Universal Studios, HIT Entertainment, DreamWorks, Endemol and DC Thomson.
