Richard Maloney and Edward Record were both recently named by Stage Stores as chief merchandising officer and chief operating officer, respectively.
In the new role, Maloney will lead all merchandising, planning and allocation functions of the Houston division. He joined Stage Stores in October 2008 as president and chief operating officer of the South Hill division. Prior to that, Maloney had worked as president and chief executive officer of the Meier & Frank division at Macy's.
As chief operating officer, Record will oversee the company's finances and other related legal duties. He has been at Stage Stores since May 2007, joining as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Before then, Record served as senior vice president of finance at Kohl's and senior vice president of finance and controller for Belk.
Stage Stores operates 758 stores in 39 states, specializing in brand name apparel, accessories, cosmetics and footwear. Its stores do business under the names of Bealls, Goody's, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage.
