Glenn Rutherford and his son Travis have formed The Rutherford James Group, a new licensing and brand management joint venture.

Current clients include Backwoods, Claire Murray Home, Lucas Design/Kitson, Surf Line/Jams World and P-Popz/Pather.

Glenn, who will serve as chairman, has worked in the licensing business for more than 25 years having obtained the first license for Hang Ten International and later for Ocean Pacific Sunwear. He also served as the president of Ocean Pacific International and oversaw its worldwide licensing program. Glenn also opened casual wear retail chain Saturdays.

Travis was named chief executive officer of the new company. His career spans Disney, DreamWorks and MGM Studios. Most recently he served as executive vice president of worldwide consumer products and location-based entertainment for MGM.

"We have both lived and breathed the global licensing business for many years, and getting back together under this new structure gives us an opportunity to build a sustainable family-run business for the long term," says Travis.

The Rutherford James Group's offices are located in Los Angeles, Calif., Denver, Colo. and Dubai, U.A.E. For more information, visit www.rutherfordjames.com.
