Twenty-six additional episodes of Scholastic Media's "WordGirl" are now in production for PBS Kids. The show currently airs daily on the PBS Kids Go! afternoon block.

The season 3 commission brings the show's episode total to 78. The elementary school series for language learning is produced by Scholastic Media's animation studio Soup2Nuts.

Scholastic recently released books based on the series and plans to grow the brand further through educational board games and puzzles.

"WordGirl" has been honored several times since its debut, including a 2008 Emmy Award for "Best Writing in Animation," a Television Critics Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Children's Animation" and others. Voice talent includes Danna Phirman ("MadTV"), Chris Parnell ("30 Rock," "Saturday Night Live"), Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants") and others.
