Donruss Playoff, the second-oldest sports trading card company in the U.S., was recently bought by the Panini Group.

Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, Donruss owns the card brands, Donruss, Playoff, Leaf and Score. The company, founded in 1954, also publishes officially licensed merchandise for the NFL.

Panini plans to continue operating the business from Texas, maintaining its NFL programs, as well as beginning a NBA program in October.

Meanwhile, the Panini Group was also granted the exclusive worldwide license for trading cards and sticker album collections for the Football World Cups in South Africa in 2010 and in Brazil in 2014.
