Hello Kitty U.K. agent Fluid World has signed a deal for Hello Kitty-branded clothing with Marks and Spencer in the first collaboration between the Sanrio property and the retailer. The collection hits stores in April.

Fluid worked with Watermelon, Marks and Spencer's retained licensing and design consultancy, to develop the range.

"Marks and Spencer provides a perfect home for the Hello Kitty brand in the U.K.," says Libby Grant, Fluid World brand director.

ÒWe are pleased to be working in partnership with Sanrio and Fluid on such an established brand, and we are looking forward to launching Hello Kitty in M&S in a big way for spring '09," says Scott Fyfe, M&S trading director for childrenswear, sourcing and outlets.

Fluid was named as the first agent for the property in the U.K. in August last year.

Meanwhile, the global Hello Kitty co-branded deal between Sanrio Global Consumer Products and Mac Cosmetics rolls out this month, launching on Mac's Web site on Feb. 10, in North American stores on Feb. 12 and in stores worldwide in March.
