KidsCo, the international children's channel owned by leading media companies NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment, has signed Australian preschool entertainment show "The Wiggles" for Western Europe.
The deal follows the launch of KidsCo into France and Portugal and will see "The Wiggles" air in Western European territories, which will also include Spain and Germany, for the first time.
KidsCo launches on French platform Orange TV with both a linear channel and a KidsCo SVOD service. In Portugal, KidsCo launches on Clix, which will offer KidsCo on IPTV. KidsCo is localized in the regions including local language Web sites.
"The Wiggles" premiered on KidsCo in November 2008 on KidsCo's Asia Pacific/Sub-Saharan African feed.
With sales of over 23 million DVDs and 7 million CDs worldwide, "The Wiggles" has already conquered key territories around the world including the U.S., Canada, South America and Japan.
