In the agreement, Hilco and Gordon have jointly purchased all of Polaroid's assets including the brand, intellectual property and inventory. A worldwide licensing program is in the works, comprised of wholesale, direct-to-retail and e-commerce businesses.
The 72-year-old Polaroid brand, which twice filed for bankruptcy, had products spanning polarized sunglasses, instant film, cameras, camera accessories, flat-panel televisions, portable DVD players, digital photo frames, digital HD camcorders and waterproof digital cameras.
