First Sesame Street Attractions Coming to Dubai

Universal Studios Dubailand plans to open the first three Sesame Street entertainment attractions in the Middle East.

One of the new attractions, Sesame Street 4-D Movie Magic, features a 400-seat theater where families can join in a sensory experience and explore the brand's popular characters such as Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and others. Other Sesame venues will include a carousel, a live stage show and Elmo's Emporium where visitors can purchase Sesame merchandise.

"We are thrilled to partner with Universal Studios Dubailand to create a home for Big Bird and all his friends," says Gary Knell, president and chief executive officer of Sesame Workshop. "The park offers a remarkable opportunity to share all the laughter and learning of Sesame Street with the people of the United Arab Emirates and visiting guests from around the world."

Universal Studios Dubailand, a member of Tatweer, is currently under construction and an official opening date has not yet been announced.
