Entertainment Rights' "Basil Brush" has returned to CBBC, following the BBC commission of a second series of "Basil's Swap Shop" from independent producer The Foundation, part of the RDF Media Group.

The series, which began airing this week, is scheduled for a 12-week run on Saturday mornings. The first series of the show aired in January 2008.

The new series includes 11 live studio shows and a "best of" show. It uses a mix of interactive- and comedy-based entertainment, jokes, sketches, music and games, all reflecting Basil's own character.

"The commission demonstrates ER's strong relationship with CBBC and its ongoing commitment to Basil Brush," says Chloe van den Berg, executive director for international at ER. "We have no doubt that Basil will continue to entertain generations of children."
