Carrefour continues its international step forward and intends to open up in new markets.

Last week, it signed a contract to open its first shop in Inner Mongolia, in Hohhot, in 2011. Europe's biggest retail chain has also agreed to set up franchisee stores in India with Pantaloon Retail. When the deal is formally announced, it will make Carrefour the third biggest retail group to enter the $390 billion Indian retail market, following Tesco and Walmart.
