This year, Licensing Expo’s Opening Night Party in Association with ATLUS will have an iconic theme as there will be several very special guest stars from hip-hop royalty performing their classic hits to celebrate the upcoming 2023 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop. The party is free and on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get there early on Tuesday, May 24, starting at 6 p.m.
“The 50th year of hip-hop will arguably be one of the most significant events in music history,” says Ice-T, one of the featured artists of Legends Recordings.
As part of the worldwide celebration for this iconic cultural milestone, Legends Recordings has tapped The Brand Liaison to lead the official 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop licensing program.
Following their performance Tuesday night, The Brand Liaison is hosting a press conference and Q&A session with the legendary artists Wednesday, May 25, at noon right on the show floor, Licensing Expo Spotlight Stage Booth #J170.
“Hip hop is not just music – it’s an entire culture that includes fashion, dance, art and poetry with words,” says Steven Heller, president, The Brand Liaison. “And the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop is not just a trademark, or even just a brand – it’s a historic event that celebrates this entire culture.”
Legends Recordings is the official licensor of the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop trademarks and art assets. Led by licensing agency, The Brand Liaison, the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop international licensing will include concerts and music festivals, educational and cultural events, television, podcasts and publishing, collaborations and, of course, worldwide merchandising rights in virtually every imaginable category.
