Headlining Xilam Animation’s slate at the inaugural France Licensing Day & Licensing International Awards, which takes place at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris in Paris, France, on March 9, will be “Oggy Oggy” – a preschool spin-off to its “Oggy and the Cockroaches” franchise. The first season debuted globally on Netflix in August 2021 and is now available on key European free-to-air broadcasters, including France Télévisions. A master toy range from Simba Dickie Group launched in stores across France, Germany and Italy for Christmas 2022, and will extend into further European markets this year. Xilam is currently looking for further partners to expand the licensing program across games, gifting and apparel.

Xilam will be looking for partners in plush, toys and games, educational apps and accessories for its slapstick brand “Zig & Sharko,” for which a fourth season will launch later this year, and “Where’s Chicky?,” is a short-form comedy produced by Xilam’s Cube Creative. Xilam will also bring properties “Space Goofs” and “Ratz.”

“France Licensing Day will be an important chance for us to meet with local partners face to face, as well as providing a valuable opportunity to identify trends – such as the growing popularity for gamification we’re seeing across the licensing and retail industries,” says Capucine Humblot, head, licensing and merchandising, Xilam Animation. “Increasingly, game design elements and principles are being applied in non-gaming contexts as an effective driver for customer engagement and loyalty programs. While this is not a new phenomenon, it’s becoming more important for kids’ brands given the growing technological possibilities that now exist online, at brick-and-mortar locations and in the ever-advancing metaverse.”
