The choice to exhibit at the event caps off a period of significant acquisition activity for the company, which announced its plans to broaden its brand management role in February 2012 when changed its name from People’s Liberation to Sequential Brands Group.
This announcement was quickly followed by a series of acquisitions, including the purchase of action sports brand DVS in June 2012, Heelys footwear in December 2012 and the lifestyle brands Ellen Tracy and Caribbean Joe in April.
These new brands have joined Sequential’s existing properties, William Rast and People’s Liberation, in a portfolio that now includes more than 50 licensees and an expected run rate of close to $1 billion worldwide.
