For the first time MIPTV, which will take place April 7-10 in Cannes, France, will feature a special program dedicated to kids content.

On April 8 the annual content marketplace will feature Junior at MIPTV, a new program dedicated to kids and teen programming.

The day will feature a series of events including the Future of Kids’ TV summit and a keynote from Tara Sorensen, head of kids programming, Amazon Studios, as well as a kids’ content marketplace.

Confirmed participants already include Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Ki.Ka, DeAgostini Editore, MediaCorp, ABC Television and Google.

Also launching at this year’s MIPTV will be the MIP Digital Fronts screenings of original online videos, presented in partnership with YouTube and Maker Studio. YouTube’s head of entertainment, Alex Carloss, will also give a keynote address.
