Hawkins’s Digital Kids keynote, entitled “From Madden to Feeling Mad: My Path from Sports Games to Learning Games,” will provide attendees insight into how he plans to sell the iPad game “IF” (inspired by the Rudyard Kipling poem) in a historically difficult space with a new business model that combines storytelling, game play mechanics and compassion.

Hawkins is transitioning into the learning games industry as a co-founder and chief executive officer of If You Can, a company aimed at teaching 6- to 12-year-olds how to use social emotional learning to combat bullying.

Hawkins will join 40 speakers who are presenting over the course of two days at the Digital Kids Summit on topics ranging from critical research from top analysts to insight into the hottest startups and leading brands.
