Three-day video game event will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Michael Gallagher, president and CEO, Entertainment Software Association.

The annual gaming convention E3 will open its doors in Los Angeles today with top companies like Nintendo, Activision, Microsoft, SEGA and Atari unveiling new products for the coming year.

Taking place June 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, E3 is a leading computer and video game event that brings together more than 60,000 computer, video game and entertainment professionals; media guests; and fans from across the globe to experience thousands of new products.

This year, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Michael Gallagher, president and chief executive officer, Entertainment Software Association, the trade association that owns E3 and represents the U.S. video game industry, will open the three-day event at 11:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony in the Convention Center’s West Hall.

Additionally, E3 Coliseum, a main-stage event hosted by producer Georff Keighley, will begin at 12 p.m. with a series of discussions and panels designed to bring gaming fans closer to their favorite games, creators and celebrities. E3 Coliseum will be held June 13-14.
