The inaugural France Licensing Day & Licensing International Awards is set to take place in Paris on Mar. 9, and will provide an opportunity to bring together licensing players in France for a day of meetings and networking and an evening of celebrations. It will be combined with an evening drinks reception and a look back, rewarding the successes of 2022, with the Licensing International France Awards.

What is France Licensing Day and what’s the reasoning it is taking place?

France Licensing Day is the result of the great past successes of the Licensing International Awards and the need for the French market to formally meet with potential new partners.

Informa’s Global Licensing Group (which is behind Brand Licensing Europe, Licensing Expo and License Global) has partnered up with Licensing International for the event, which includes the Licensing International France Awards, what expertise does LI bring to the table?

Licensing International France, represented by Florence Ayem and Laurent Taieb, is doing a lot to support the industry alongside many other experts. We have made successful partnerships over the past 40 years for other tradeshows, namely Brand Licensing Europe and Licensing Expo.

The educational part with B2B meetings is crucial for the attendees and exhibitors, giving them another opportunity to connect, in person, as we continue to return to face-to-face events.

What can attendees expect from the event, in terms of schedule, content and who will be exhibiting?

Visitors can expect a welcome coffee and a croissant followed by a keynote seminar. We are set to announce the speaker in due course, so keep a look out on License Global for more details on that. Attendees can also book efficient B2B meetings with over 40 exhibitors, including the likes of Asterix, Bayard, Dreamcatcher Licensing, Le Petit Prince, Mattel, Paramount, The Pokémon Company, Studio Canal, TF1 Licensing and Universal.

It will all be concluded with a unique awards ceremony in the evening.

It was great to see so many people back, networking face-to-face at BLE, how important is it that we carry that momentum through into 2023?

The licensing industry, and others, needs to feel the product, feel the relationship and enjoy a drink! Moreover, as an industry, we have always collaborated by meeting face-to-to face so it has been a natural transition for us to increase the number of opportunities to meet and connect, in between the annual BLE events.

What are you personally most looking forward to at the event?

To see everyone together in France collaborating and celebrating the success of our industry.

With the other members of the Licensing International YPN Board in France, we will be inviting 30 students from schools and universities in France, so they can get expert insight during the afternoon. The students will be able to talk to the most influential companies about their future and of course experience the Licensing International Awards Ceremony.

Finally, when is France Licensing Day & Licensing International Awards and how can people find out more about either exhibiting or attending the event?

The event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris in Paris, France, on Mar. 9, 2023.
