Julius Extends His Global Reach

Julius the monkey and his other Paul Frank pals were busy scooping up deals this spring from head-to-toe apparel and accessories to party goods all around the globe. The new partnerships follow Paul Frank Industries' decision in April to partner with California-based Gator Group as its new agent.

Last month, the art-based accessories company secured a headwear deal with Concept One, which introduced Paul Frank-branded headwear and cold weather accessories for children, juniors and adults at U.S. stores. Julius, Skurvy and 200 others are featured on hats, caps, buckets, visors, fedoras, cadets, knit hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, beanies and earmuffs.

Accessory Innovations' line of Paul Frank-branded socks, hosiery and legwarmers has hit U.S. retailers, as well. The line features bright-colored athletic and fashion styles for all ages, as well as novelty hosiery with 3-D appliqués and more.

A jewelry and accessories line from Silver Goose also is out. The Paul Frank collection features jewelry for babies, teens, juniors and young men and hair accessories. Silver Goose also is producing infant accessories, including diaper bags, baby carriers, baby blankets and Julius-inspired baby gift sets with bibs, burp cloths, bottles, pacifiers, cups, feeding sets, booties, caps and more.

In September, an expansive line of branded stationery, sticker and party goods from American Greetings will roll out. The paper goods include every day and seasonal greeting cards, as well as thank-you notes, blank notes, invites (with paper and ink), gift card holders (all with or without music/audio); gift packaging, including gift bags, gift wrap, tissue, gift boxes, tags, enclosures, package decorations (all with or without music/audio); stickers, including 4x6 and foot-long styles; party goods, including tableware, plastic stadium cups; and accessories such as blow-outs, cello treat sacks, cone hats, loot bags, temporary tattoos, party decorations, hinged banners, wall decorations and confetti.

Outside of the U.S., Paul Frank will see merchandise roll out in several categories this fall across Europe, the Middle East and Africa through Maglifico Simon SRL for children's apparel, including sportswear, nightwear, underwear and outerwear; Ito Industries for teen and adult apparel, including sportswear, outerwear, swimwear and denim; and Blue Fish for handbags and purses. Both Stationery Team and Alpa SAS/Alpa U.K. have introduced bags and small leather goods, including backpacks, messenger bags, wallets, coin purses, lunch kits, back-to-school stationery and school supplies. Alpa SAS/Alpa U.K. distributes the line at major retailers in France and its overseas territories, Monaco, Andorra, the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland, while Stationery Team delivers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
