University Games, a San Francisco-based game and puzzle company, has acquired game manufacturer The Haywire Group.
Under the terms of the agreement, University Games will extend the reach of Haywire’s portfolio to include markets like Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand in 2018 as well as other undisclosed markets in 2019.
Meanwhile, The Haywire Group founders Barbara and Michael Fischer, as well as their creative teams, will assume new roles at Haywire’s sister company, Grand Prix International.
“We are honored to have the great assortment of games from The Haywire Group join our stable at University Games,” says Bob Moog, co-founder, University Games. “I hope that the rest of the world enjoys Flickin’ Chicken as much as I do, and who doesn’t like a good game of Shaboom?”
The Haywire Group was founded in 2005 with a mission to improve children’s lives through gameplay. The Haywire Group’s portfolio currently includes Flickin’ Chicken and the Pizza Party dice game.
