Global independent safety science company UL’s consumer products group will host a Licensing Industry Open Day Nov. 21 at its new facility in the Winnersh Triangle Business Park in Berkshire, England.

The open house will give licensing industry professionals insight into product safety testing with facility tours, seminars and a networking lunch.

UL’s U.K. division recently relocated to the new facility, which received accreditation to provide testing solutions for the new chemical requirements of the EU Toy Safety Directive earlier this month.

The updated EU requirements mean that toys and children’s products must be manufactured so as to prevent exposure from children to harmful chemical elements.

As part of open house, a series of seminars will be held offering insight into supply chain management and due diligence as well as surveillance and benchmarking best practices.

Keynote presentations will be given by Tahir Basheer of Sheridans, who will provide an overview of the legal aspects of licensing, and Kelvyn Gardner, managing director of LIMA U.K., who will discuss the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Associations’ role in the industry.

UL experts will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice on how to help ensure product safety and compliance to meet quality standards and brand specifications.

To register for UL’s Licensing Industry Open Day or for more information contact Mark Randall at 0118 927 3340 or [email protected].
