Turner Broadcasting has named Vanessa Brookman to the newly created role of vice president, content and creative, for the U.K. and Northern Europe.

The primary focus of the role is to define and execute content strategy for the company’s kids’ and general entertainment portfolio across the U.K., Nordic and Baltic countries. Brookman will be responsible for channels, digital, creative and presentation teams of around 50 people, setting the creative agenda and ensuring programming is market leading.

Brookman will report to Ian McDonough, senior vice president and managing director, U.K. and Northern Europe, Turner Broadcasting, and will be based in the company’s EMEA headquarters in London.

“This follows our recent hire of Dan Fahy as senior director, commercial development, and demonstrates our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent,” says McDonough. “The newly created VP, content and creative, role also exemplifies our commitment to acquiring and developing the best content for our channels and I am confident that Vanessa’s great track record and experience will be a critical asset. Our business is poised for future growth.”
