April 4, 2019
The Suburbia agreement marks the largest direct-to-retail deal in history for the Sesame Workshop. As part of the deal, Suburbia will also include a special exhibition in each of its stores to highlight new “Sesame Street”-themed furniture.
“We are very excited about this association with Suburbia,” says Lewis Kofsky, vice president and general manager, Latin America, and international executive producer, Sesame Workshop. “Our mission has always been to reach as many kids and families as possible, and this association supports this mission. This is only the beginning of an amazing celebration.”
The Suburbia deal comes during Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary. The Sesame Workshop has already collaborated with various fashion, lifestyle and themed entertainment companies to honor the show’s milestone.
