Schwarzenegger Unveils 'The Governator'

A Squared Entertainment, Archie Comics and Stan Lee announced that they have joined forces with Arnold Schwarzenegger to produce the next superhero from Stan Lee Comics: “The Governator.” The new property was unveiled today at MIP-TV in Cannes.

“The Governator” is a worldwide, multi-platform entertainment property, which includes a television series, 3D movie, comic book series and consumer products program.

A2 will produce the TV series and 3D movie, as well as manage the global licensing, merchandising and distribution. Archie Comics will publish “The Governator” comic series in print and digital forms. Stan Lee, his producing partner Gill Champion and POW! will oversee all creative direction and story development.

“When I started looking for a new project, I wanted it to be three things: new and different; reflect topics I am passionate about; and, most importantly, capture the imaginations of people worldwide,” says Schwarzenegger. “By tapping into the genius of some of the most creative minds in the entertainment industry to develop this series that features my past endeavors and interests, I am confident ‘The Governator’ will be all those things and more.”

“Arnold is a true superhero and I couldn’t be more excited to help make that come to life with ‘The Governator,’” says Stan Lee, POW! chairman and founder. “With the help of industry experts A2 and Archie Comics, this new property will deliver the highest quality entertainment experiences for audiences everywhere, across all channels.”
