Art has been a staple of licensing since the industry’s earliest years. Over the years, licensed artwork has been displayed on everything from mugs to t-shirts and everything in-between. Few people understand the immense role art plays in licensing like Robin Sayetta, associate director, licensing and partnerships, business development, retail, Museum of Modern Art. Sayetta’s role at the MoMA sees her bringing a novel approach to art licensing that leverages modern retail channels to deliver the MoMA’s licensing collection to consumers around the world.

To explain the MoMA’s effective modern strategy deployed over the last several years, Sayetta is set to take the stage at this year's Licensing Leadership Summit. Her session will look at MoMA's unique "different by design" approach to licensing, including how close collaboration with the museum's curatorial team and retail channels support the growth of global product and retail store licensing initiatives. The discussion will also highlight the challenges inherent in building a commercial enterprise within a non-profit environment and uncover how MoMA manages complexities related to branding and intellectual property in the art world.
