U.K. licensed toy suppliers John Adams and Toy Brokers have been bought from games and puzzle specialist Drumond Park in a management buyout led by managing director Simon Pilkington for an undisclosed sum, backed by an unnamed investor.

The company, which suppliers Postman Pat, Bob the Builder and the New Scotland Yard science product, is now based at the existing Toy Brokers premises in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, with marketing, sales, administration and warehousing consolidated into one business.

The management buyout brings together a portfolio of toy, games, hobby and outdoor leisure brands, including Tiny Tears, Girls World, Fuzzy Felt, Bema Sports swimming aids, Intex pools and inflatables, the Golden Coin Maker, Supergraphics and Hot Wires. The Tiny Tears doll range is being re-launched this year supported by a television advertising and PR campaign.

"I'm delighted to confirm the successful conclusion of the management buyout process," says Pilkington. "We have a hugely experienced and dedicated management team on board who are passionate about the long-term future and success of the new business, and we're looking forward to strengthening our existing brand portfolio and retailer network in the coming months."
