NORTH AMERICA–IMG has acquired the global museum exhibition producer Exhibitions International, as well as its portfolio of events including King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, Pompeii: The Exhibition and Mummies of the World, among many others.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Exhibitions International will sit within IMG’s events division with arts and entertainment. Furthermore, John Norman, Exhibitions International’s founder and president, will become managing director of exhibitions for IMG Events. Norman’s team will also join IMG Events.

“For decades, my company has been entrusted with sharing iconic and priceless treasures from land and sea with the world, and I am proud to say we have mounted some of the most popular exhibitions of the past 20 years,” says Norman. “The exhibition business is built on relationships, quality and trust–attributes that are also the foundation of IMG. My team and I look forward to being part of this dynamic company and growing the exhibitions business to new levels.”

Before the acquisition, IMG collaborated with Exhibitions International on Tutankhamun: The Golden Age of the Pharaohs in Melbourne in 2011. Last year, the two partnered for King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, which will debut at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on March 24.
