Developer Meridian Berhad has agreed to build the first-ever Hasbro-licensed water park in the world.

According to a report from WorldScreen, the water attraction will leverage Hasbro IP to create themed areas around the park. The developer’s deal comes as part of a larger project called Malaysia Tourism City (MTC), which will see Meridian Berhad create popular tourist destinations throughout the region.

“By signing the agreement, we will be entering a relationship with Hasbro to develop the world’s first themed water park based on their beloved brands, including My Little Pony, NERF, Monopoly and more, which will be an iconic anchor attraction at the heart of the MTC master plan,” says Dato’ Seth, major shareholder, Meridian Berhad. “The water park will be 20 acres in size, offering a wide range of new rides that are not available in other parks in Malaysia, by weaving in exclusive IP rights.”

The news of the Hasbro water park comes on the heels of Mattel’s recent announcement of Barbie and Hot Wheels inspired amusement parks throughout North America.
