
Sy Berger, known as the "father of the modern-day baseball trading card," died on Sunday at his home in Rockville Centre, N.Y., at the age of 91.
As vice president for sports and licensing at the Topps Chewing Gum Company, Berger introduced Topps trading cards to the industry in 1951.
The New York Times
featured the licensing legend in its Sunday issue.
