Licensing and brand management firm Evolution has been selected as the licensing, merchandising and promotional agency for Germany’s Morgen Studios “Super 4” television series, and the Playmobil brand in the U.S.
Evolution plans on launching a retro-styled Playmobil line of fashion apparel, accessories, novelty, gift and paper goods targeted at young adults and juniors in the specialty and mid-tier retail channels for spring 2016, and then expanding the brand into broader categories and channels beginning in fall 2016, along with a full scale children’s licensing program for the Playmobil brand.
“Super 4” (52x11 minutes) is an action adventure CGI series produced by Morgen studios and Method Animation, inspired by the Playmobil brand, that is currently being broadcast on Netflix in the U.S.
Playmobil is on board as the worldwide master toy licensee for “Super 4” and will launch a line of figures and play this fall. Following the core toy introduction, Evolution will expand “Super 4 “into publishing, video games, novelty toys and games, apparel and accessories, gifts, stationery and out of home entertainment.
“Playmobil is one of the most prestigious companies in the global toy market, and the initiative to expand the core toy line into a leading entertainment brand through the ‘Super 4’ TV series fits perfectly with our goal of supporting best in class content," says Travis J. Rutherford, president of licensing and retail development, Evolution. “We also have the enormous benefit of being able to build on a 41 year classic toy brand that is beloved by both kids and parents and see tremendous opportunity for long term sustainable brand expansion through innovative licensed products and strategic promotional partnerships.”
