DHX Studios to focus on the company's development, production and interactive projects.

DHX Media has rebranded its content-creation arm DHX Studios and is building a new 60,000-square-foot animation studio for future projects.

The rebranded DHX Studios unites the company's development, production and interactive capabilities and will be dedicated to developing and producing high-quality, original content, both animated and live-action.

The studio will be lead by Asaph Fipke, chief content officer, and Ken Faier, senior vice president and general manager.

In addition to the rebranding, DHX’s new animation studio in Vancouver will consolidate its West Coast production operations and is slated for completion this December.

“The reorganization of this business unit cements DHX Media’s dedication to producing outstanding original content,” says Steven DeNure, president and chief operating officer, DHX Media. “We’re excited to launch DHX Studios under this strong management group, and to be bringing our 2D and 3D Vancouver animation teams together in once facility.”

DHX Studios already has several TV series in production or development including “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” “Airmageddon” and “Stephen & Lucy Hawking’s Secret Key to the Universe.”
