Online marketplace Tmall Global, which is operated by Alibaba, has launched two initiatives to encourage brands and businesses to enter the Chinese market, according to Retail Dive.
The Centralized Import Procurement will implement six global procurement centers, which will be set up by Alibaba, to source imported goods "for all the online and offline outlets within the Alibaba ecosystem."
The Tmall Overseas Fulfillment initiative will enable brands to sell smaller assortments of products and “fine tune” their product lines before fully launching in the Chinese market.
