AG Properties, the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, has announced the promotion of Carla Silva to senior vice president, global licensing.

A six-year veteran of the company, Silva oversees the development and execution of AGP’s global licensing efforts and moving forward will expand her role to focus on strategic growth opportunities to further broaden the consumer reach for both their classic and new brands. Silva will report to new AGP president, Sean Gorman.

“Carla Silva has played an instrumental role in the growth of AG Properties and this well-deserved promotion will enhance how we can help consumers worldwide connect with their favorite AGP characters and brands. Her expanded role will allow her to further contribute to the strategic and creative direction by working with the senior management team to build a solid foundation for our business moving forward,” says Gorman. “Carla brings exceptional vision and creativity to the company and I look forward to working with her as she takes her unique point of view to a whole new level.”

Silva’s promotion is part of a re-organization of AGP by Gorman to promote growth through strategic initiatives that extend AGP’s entertainment onto varied content platforms and licensed products into new territories and distribution channels.

Going forward, Silva will play an integral role in identifying new business opportunities for the company’s vast portfolio of licensed characters and brands, which include Madballs, Packages from Planet X, Boofle, Holly Hobbie, Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake, while overseeing AGP’s extensive network of licensees and foreign agents.
