Ikea and Sonos have partnered to create a speaker collection that can double as lamps and stands.

The new collection includes a SYMFONISK table lamp with wi-fi speaker that seamlessly blends into a living room or bedroom. Joining the lamp speaker hybrid is another speaker that can be mounted to walls and used as a small nightstand or table.

“This is not your ordinary speaker,” says Andreas Fredriksson, designer, IKEA. “It’s tucked away in the bookshelf or put on display. Mount it on the wall or use speaker hooks to hang it on a rail and integrate it into your kitchen.”

The Ikea and Sonos collaboration follows another unique partnership in the furniture category from Star Wars and Kenneth Cobonpue. The furniture designer recently launched a line of home goods that take design cues from the George Lucas sci-fi franchise.
