The Royal Mint has revealed a collectible 50p coin to celebrate ten years since the release of “The Snowman and The Snowdog,” the animated sequel to the “The Snowman.”

“The Royal Mint first celebrated the heart-warming tale of ‘The Snowman’ on official U.K. coins in 2018,” says Rebecca Morgan, director, collector services, The Royal Mint. “Today, we are delighted to introduce another collectible 50p coin to the series celebrating 10 years since the release of ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog.’ This year’s design is just as charming as ever and features an exclusive design by award-winning illustrator, Robin Shaw. ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ coin beautifully captures the festive magic of a tale that has become a much-loved classic. We hope collectors will love the design as much as we do at The Royal Mint with the coin making the ideal Christmas gift for loved ones.”

“It’s always really exciting to explore the next coin design with The Royal Mint and we are thrilled that this year we can celebrate ten years of friendship and fun with ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog,’ captured perfectly by Robin Shaw for this very special coin release,” says Thomas Merrington, creative director, Penguin Ventures

This is the fifth commemorative coin from The World of The Snowman released by The Royal Mint in collaboration with Snowdog Enterprises and officially licensed by Penguin Ventures (part of Penguin Random House U.K.), with the first coin released in 2018.
