Retro51, Lionel Trains Announce Licensing Agreement

Retro51 unveils a nostalgic pen collection inspired by Lionel Trains’ timeless legacy.

Retro51, known for its stylish and nostalgic writing instruments, has announced a new licensing agreement with Lionel Trains, known for its model trains. The collaboration will feature a collection of Retro51 pens that capture the spirit, history and craftsmanship of Lionel trains for collectors and enthusiasts. 

The collaboration blends Retro51’s design with Lionel Trains’ classic appeal and timeless charm, creating carefully crafted pens that evoke childhood memories while delivering Retro51’s signature smooth writing performance. 

“We believe in creating products that evoke a sense of yesteryear, and who better to collaborate with than a brand like Lionel, whose legacy has been sparking joy for generations?” says Jeff Velker, co-owner and chief executive officer, Retro51.  

“Our pens will be a true celebration of their nearly 125-year history, and the Lionel team has been wonderful to work with,” says Richard Koehler, creative director, Retro51

The Retro51 x Lionel Trains collection will launch on Oct. 29 with the first pen in a series of ongoing, limited-edition pens inspired by classic and contemporary Lionel locomotive designs and railway art.
