South Korean free-to-air broadcaster EBS has acquired the rights to air series five, six and seven of Entertainment One’s “Peppa Pig” franchise.
eOne’s “Peppa Pig” was first aired in South Korea in May 2019, and following a positive audience response, has returned to the region with three full seasons. To support the move to a new territory and serve the demand of a new audience, EBS has also been appointed as the licensing agency and consumer products manager for the “Peppa Pig” brand in the region.
“The response to ‘Peppa Pig’ across Asia has been amazing,” says Olivier Dumont, president, family, brands, eOne. “It is testament to the universal appeal of the series that it has secured a highly sought-after slot on the EBS schedule, and we’re delighted that our Korean fans will be able to see new ‘Peppa’ episodes on a network they love. Our new partnership with EBS will enable us to bring ‘Peppa’ to the widest possible audience in South Korea, and we’re excited about its potential in the region.”
