Reebok and Brazilian football club, Botafogo, have announced the signing of a long-term strategic partnership, whereby Reebok will become the official apparel sponsor for the club. After establishing recognition in the region, the partnership marks Reebok’s return to Brazilian football.
“We are pleased to announce that Reebok is becoming the official apparel partner for Botafogo, Brazil’s premier football club,” says Steve Robaire, executive vice president, Reebok International, Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Reebok brand. “A championship team, Botafogo, shares in Reebok’s ambition and commitment to greatness. The partnership with Botafogo is a key component in Reebok’s global strategy to reclaim its rightful place in sports culture.”
Reebok’s sponsorship of Botafogo will cover the club's men's and women's professional football teams in addition to its youth division. Products will be available for consumers through the club's direct channels, Reebok’s direct-to-consumer channels, online and at multi-brand sports stores across Brazil. Botafogo and Reebok Design Group collaborated to design the collection, which will be on sale at the kickoff of the Brazilian Championship – Serie A.
“We are honored to welcome Reebok as our premier apparel sponsor,” says John Textor, owner, Botafogo. “Reebok has historically had a deep connection with football in Brazil and we are thrilled to be the first Brazilian football club chosen to help bring Reebok back to its roots in the sport.”
