Liam Gallagher Goes Supersonic with Adidas Collab

The former Oasis front man’s new shoe deal precedes the launch of his upcoming solo record Why Me? Why Not?

Adidas has announced a new shoe collaboration with former Oasis front man, Liam Gallagher.

The LG SPZL shoe will release ahead of Gallagher’s new album, Why Me? Why Not?, which is due out this September. Gallagher has been a longtime fan of the Adidas brand and has said the Barrington Smash is his favorite pair of sneakers from the brand.

“I have known Liam for over 20 years, and we have always got on,” says Gary Aspden, consultant, Adidas. “He is one of the people who has worn and supported what we do with Adidas Spezial since day one, so this collaboration evolved organically. He liked the silhouette of the Padiham SPZL on the whole but said he wanted it to look neutral and understated. This shoe became [the] foundation for the LG SPZL.”

Gallagher and his brother, Noel, earned their claim to fame in the ‘90s with the band Oasis. The British pop band earned global success with songs such as “Wonderwall” and “Supersonic.” Oasis broke up in 2009 as the brothers pursued solo careers.

Before his shoe deal with Adidas, Liam Gallagher launched his own fashion line in 2009.
