“We researched plant-based, recyclable, alternative and vegan materials that we could incorporate into the shoe so it can have multiple lives.”
The collaboration, called SuperEarth, is a reimagination of the Adidas Superstar. Rather than the cowhide upper of the original, the shoe is entirely vegan. The construction consists of reused Ortholite sockliners, vegan glues, natural rubber composed outsoles, paper-made laces and 100 percent recycled polyester lining.
The shoe is set to launch on Aug. 29 through select retailers.
