The Emoticon brand now appears on chocolates, baked good and more.

EUROPE–SmileyWorld has tapped a score of new and renewed licensees to create a variety of branded confectionery lines for the company’s Smiley foods program.

First, SmileyWorld has renewed its Easter Egg agreement with Italian chocolatier Witor’s and unveiled three new designs including traditional chocolate eggs and a Smiley surprise.                  

Meanwhile, Luigi Zaini added additional products to their range including a Christmas range, an epiphany range and new Smiley lentils with surprises. Luigi Zaini also added new territories to its contract.

Trendy Foods also launched a new range of Smiley candy, including 20 candy SKUs. It also opened a Smiley Candy shop-in-shop at Carrefour in Belgium.

Finally, Lutti unveiled new branded products including Smiley-branded tube bubble gum and Smiley roll up bubble gum tape.

“With the instant appeal of our Smiley icons on packaging and in 3D food applications, our Smiley food range has made a real impact at retail across many aisles of the store,” says Lori Heiss, vice president, food, Smiley.  “But our sweets and treats range has done particularly well, with the help of our world-class partners creating delicious and eye-catching products that people love.”
