Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Maud Borup are pairing for a range of hot cocoa mixes.

Maud Borup will package and distribute the range at mass, specialty, drug and club stores in the U.S.

The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Hot Cocoa Mixes will come in three flavors–chocolate, vanilla and peppermint. The cocoa collection will launch into Walmart stores, with ShopKo also carrying a holiday collection gift set.

“It is such a natural fit. Both companies started from one person’s dream of staying true to down home values, quality ingredients, and traditional methods to produce the finest gourmet confections,” says Christine Lantinen, president, Maud Borup. “This agreement allows us to fulfill consumer demand for premium cocoa mixes at an affordable price.”

“Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has real strength as a brand and we are seeing it at work as they continue to successfully enter new product categories,” says Emily Wickerham, vice president, client services, IMC, the licensing agency that brokered the deal. “Retailers are always on the lookout for premium brands that consumers crave and they’ve found it in Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.”
