Decas Cranberry Company has announced a new partnership with the Michigan-based retailer Meijer for its Funny Face-branded kids snack line that will make the snacks available at 199 grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

Featuring the characters of the classic ’70s brand, Decas launched Funny Face Dried Cranberries snacks earlier this year and are also available in Utah, Idaho, Wisconsin, Northern California, New England and online via Amazon.

Originally a powdered drink brand from Pillsbury in the ’60s and ’70s (designed as a competitor to Kool-Aid), the Funny Face brand was revived in 2008 with an animated series from Renegade Animation.

The characters of the brand are now featured in four different flavors of low-sugar, no-fat snack cranberries from Decas, including Rootin' Tootin' Raspberry, Freckle Face Strawberry, Choo Choo Cherry and Goofy Grape.

"We saw too many snacks targeting children with fun cartoon characters or experiences, while providing little to no nutritional value,” says Chuck Dillon, chief executive officer, Decas. “Our aim was to create the kind of product that could satisfy the needs of today's health-conscious parent and family without sacrificing the fun or taste. The Funny Face line of snacks is nutritionally conscious and delicious and supported by a fun group of fruit characters that come to life on the packages and in our online channels."
