Rent the Runway and Nordstrom are expanding their relationship by bringing drop-off boxes to 24 more Nordstrom locations nationwide.
Five Nordstrom stores currently offer the Rent the Runway service, launched in Los Angeles in June of this year.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Nordstrom, the company known and respected for their unparalleled commitment to deliver world-class service and experiences,” says Jenn Hyman, chief executive officer and co-founder, Rent the Runway. “We have seen a massive consumer behavior shift unfold over the past several years, with our community now relying on Rent the Runway as a near daily utility. As our business has grown, we’ve seen unparalleled demand for physical experiences including the convenience of Drop-Off Boxes.”
Nordstrom also has become an ‘RTR Platform partner,’ entailing that Nordstrom inventory is contributed to Rent the Runway’s system to extend the lifecycle of the products. The two companies are currently exploring the possibility of developing exclusive products that could be bought or rented through the subscription service.
Rent the Runway members can return items to participating Nordstrom stores as well as access exclusive styling services, gift-wrapping and more. In addition to Los Angeles, the service will be found in Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco, along with other cities beginning Nov. 18.
“We’ve received great feedback from our customers about the convenience of the Rent the Runway Drop-Off Boxes in our Los Angeles area Nordstrom locations and are excited to offer the service to customers in cities like San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and more,” says Jamie Nordstrom, president, Nordstrom stores. “The expansion of our partnership helps us better serve our customers through innovation around products and experiences.”
