Viacom International Media Networks has promoted Claire O’Conner to the role of vice president, consumer products and retail marketing, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately.

In her new role, O’Connor will continue to oversee the consumer products business for the Australian and New Zealand markets, as well as pick up the responsibilities of licensing across Asia. O’Connor replaced Jack Yew, who recently moved to the role of vice president, recreation (Asia) and international licensing partnerships.

Prior to her promotion, O’Connor was the senior director, Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products for Australia and New Zealand and was responsible for managing NVCP’s regional licensing, licensee relationships, retail partnerships and day-to-day operations. She has also consulted and managed Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment Australia’s kids’ portfolio and has held positions with Entertainment Rights, Just Entertainment and BBC Worldwide, among others.

“Claire has been instrumental in developing our consumer products business across Australia and New Zealand over the past five years,” says Ben Richardson, senior vice president and general manager, VIMN Australia and New Zealand. “She has created award-winning campaigns with many of our iconic Nickelodeon characters such as ‘SpongeBob SquarePants,’ ‘Dora the Explorer’ and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and has forged strong relationships across the retrial and licensing industry. With her strong track record, I’m certain Claire will now bring her creativity, expertise and experience into her newly-expanded role.”
