ViacomCBS has promoted Stefanie Schwartz to external vice president and general manager.

Prior to the promotion, Schwartz served as external vice president of strategy and operations at Viacom Digital Studios and digital partnerships for Viacom Media networks. Other career highlights include her role as senior vice president, digital and business development, Nickelodeon.

Schwartz has also worked at Viacom’s MTV network as vice president, strategy and business development. Prior to that, she was director of strategy and business development at Viacom.

The news comes shortly after the ViacomCBS merger, which was completed on Dec. 4. The newly merged company has been shifting executive positions to set up its finalized leadership team.

Schwartz will be replacing current president Kelly Day, who is in talks for another senior role at ViacomCBS, though nothing has been finalized. Day has been the president of Viacom Digital Studios since 2017.

In October, Pam Kaufman was named president of global consumer products of ViacomCBS. President and chief executive officer of Viacom, Bob Bakish, was tapped as chief executive officer and president of the combined companies.
