Toys ‘R’ Us has appointed Wolfgang Link as president of Toys ‘R’ Us Europe and Jacobo Caller as managing director of Toys ‘R’ Us Iberia.

Link succeeds Antonio Urcelay, who was named chief executive officer of Toys ‘R’ Us in October.

In his new role, Link will oversee the company’s more than 250 stores across Europe, which include business operations in nine countries: Austria, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the U.K. 

He will have broad responsibility for marketing, merchandising, store operations, e-commerce and customer service and will also join the company’s global executive committee.

Link previously served as managing director of Toys ‘R’ Us Central Europe since joining the company in 2007, directing business activities for approximately 95 stores in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Poland.

Before joining TRU, he held several leadership roles throughout the retail industry, including at ElectronicPartner, and prior to that, Metro Cash & Carry.

As the new managing director in Iberia, Caller will oversee all operations and business activities for the company’s more than 55 stores, e-commerce operations and more than 1,500 employees in Spain and Portugal. He will also be responsible for marketing, merchandising, store operations and customer service.

Caller joins Toys ‘R’ Us, Iberia from the drugstore chain Farmatodo, a leading retailer in Venezuela and Colombia. Prior to that, he worked at Carrefour, the second largest retail company in the world.
