The Toy Industry Association has named Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer, The Walt Disney Company, as its 2016 Hall of Fame inductee.

“Just about every child around the globe has been touched by the magic of Disney,” says Steve Pasierb, president and chief executive officer, TIA. “Mr. Iger has done an impressive job of building on Disney’s rich history and growing their storytelling portfolio, creating new experiences and unforgettable memories for generations of kids to come.”

Under Iger’s leadership, the world’s No. 1 Top Global Licensor, according to the License! Global annual report, has grown to include such acquisitions as Pixar (2006), Marvel (2009) and Lucasfilm (2012), in addition to the company’s long and beloved list of beloved proprietary brands.

Iger will be inducted officially into the Hall of Fame at a ceremony which will take place at 16th annual Toy of the Year Awards, to be held Feb. 12, 2016, in conjunction with the 113th North American International Toy Fair in New York City.
